Dwayne Bravo and Ian Bishop are the first two names in the CPL Hall of Fame. The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League confirmed the inaugural inductees on August 17, with a gala dinner set for September 15 at the Hilton Hotel in Barbados.
Bravo is the first player inductee. Bishop was recognised in the non-player category for his role as the tournament’s defining voice since its 2013 launch.
Bravo’s CPL numbers make the selection straightforward. He is the tournament’s third-highest wicket-taker with 129 wickets across an 18-year T20 career. He won five titles as a player: four with Trinbago Knight Riders (2015, 2017, 2018, 2020) and one with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (2021). He then added a sixth as TKR’s head coach in 2025.
Beyond CPL, Bravo was the first bowler in history to reach 500 T20 wickets. He won two ICC Men’s T20 World Cups with West Indies in 2012 and 2016, multiple IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings, and collected trophies in the Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League. Across all T20 formats globally, his title count exceeds 15.
“It’s a real honour to be the first player inducted into the CPL Hall of Fame. This tournament has been a huge part of my career, and I will always treasure every title I’ve won here. I’ve played cricket all over the world, but there’s nothing like playing at home. CPL is a true celebration of Caribbean culture and the game I love.”

Bishop: The Voice That Became the Memory
Ian Bishop played 43 Tests for West Indies as a fast bowler before injuries forced him into early retirement. His second career behind the microphone became bigger than his first.
Bishop has been part of CPL’s commentary team since the tournament’s opening season in 2013. His call of Carlos Brathwaite’s four consecutive sixes in the 2016 T20 World Cup final, “Carlos Brathwaite, remember the name,” is the most replayed piece of cricket commentary this century. That line did not describe a moment. It became the moment.
The non-player category exists to recognise contributions that never show up in scorecards. CPL CEO Pete Russell called Bishop “the voice who has brought that story to fans across the world.”
The CPL Hall of Fame was officially launched on August 3, 2026. The structure adds two names each year, one player and one off-field contributor. CEO Pete Russell framed the initiative as a way to give the tournament’s history “a permanent home” as it enters its second decade.
The September 15 gala dinner will take place during the CPL 2026 season, ahead of the final. Proceeds will support the Sir Clive Lloyd Healthcare Foundation, which works on prostate cancer awareness and testing across the Caribbean.
